Fleming County Hospital and Meadowview Regional Medical Center, Lifepoint Health hospitals, are pleased to announce the appointment of Kathy Vancampen as the new chief executive officer (CEO) and market president, effective April 7.

Vancampen has more than 24 years of experience in health care, including 15 years in leadership positions. She began her career in direct patient care as a respiratory therapist, gaining hands-on experience in critical care, emergency medicine, and the neonatal intensive care unit. Her extensive clinical background has provided her with a deep understanding of hospital operations, patient needs, and quality improvement initiatives.

Most recently, Vancampen served as facility vice president of operations at Norton Healthcare in Indiana, where she played a key role in business development, patient care improvement, and operational collaboration. In addition to her leadership in hospital operations, she prioritizes actively engaging with local organizations, business leaders, and healthcare providers to strengthen service accessibility and address regional health care challenges, ensuring that hospital initiatives align with community needs.

“Kathy’s expertise in health care management, along with her passion for patient-centered care, makes her the perfect leader to guide Fleming County Hospital and Meadowview Regional Medical Center into the future,” said William Haugh, president of Lifepoint Health’s central division. “We are confident that her leadership will enhance our service offerings, strengthen our community relationships, and support the continued success of our hospitals.”

As CEO and market president, Vancampen will spearhead strategic growth initiatives, enhance operational excellence, and ensure the continued delivery of high-quality health care across Fleming County Hospital and Meadowview Regional Medical Center. Within her role, she will oversee Fleming County Hospital’s transition to a Rural Emergency Hospital, as change required by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which will allow it to remain fully operational with a primary focus on 24/7 emergency care, outpatient services, and observation care. While inpatient services will shift to Meadowview Regional Medical Center, both hospitals remain fully committed to serving the health care needs of the community.

“I am honored to join Fleming County Hospital and Meadowview Regional Medical Center and look forward to working alongside the dedicated teams at both facilities,” Vancampen said. “Together, we will build upon the hospitals’ strong foundation and continue to advance our mission of making communities healthier.”
