Meadowview Regional Medical Center and Fleming County Hospital CEO Announces Retirement

Maysville, Kentucky (December 12, 2024) - After 35 years working in healthcare – and serving as the CEO and Market President of Meadowview Regional Medical Center (MRMC) and Fleming County Hospital (FCH) for the past seven years Joe Koch, has announced his retirement effective December 13, 2024.
Koch has served as leader of MRMC and FCH since May of 2017. Under his leadership, the hospitals have achieved significant quality milestones including designation in the Lifepoint National Quality Program, Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade of “A” and CMS 5-star ratings and expanded access to important services through the recruitment of new providers, the introduction of new technology and facility expansions like the cancer center in 2021.
“This decision is filled with deep gratitude for the incredible journey I’ve experienced here, a journey defined by remarkable achievements and meaningful collaboration,” said Koch. “I am confident our teams will continue providing high quality care, service excellence and I can’t wait to see what they will achieve next. While I am excited about my next chapter, I will miss working with our wonderful hospital teams as well as serving our communities.”
Following Koch’s departure, Bruce Tassin will serve as interim CEO as the facilities conduct a search for the next permanent leader.
