Meadowview Regional Medical Center Honors Kari Davis, RN with DAISY Award
April 23, 2024
Maysville, KY (April 18, 2024) – Meadowview Regional Medical Center today announced that Kari Davis, RN of has been recognized with The DAISY Award® For Extraordinary Nurses. The award is part of the DAISY Foundation's programs to recognize the super-human efforts nurses perform every day.
Kari received multiple nominations. Each nomination spoke of her kindness, attentiveness, and compassion. One nomination stated “Kari was amazing in our time of surprise with delivery being scary and our baby not being able to breathe. She sat in the nursery with us and our baby all night. She was very comforting and reassuring. She answered our questions and helped with our concerns. She was nothing short of amazing. We are glad she was here with us. She went above and beyond to be our nurse and friend. Then the next day she came to check on us after she was already off the clock. That meant so much to us.”
The not-for-profit DAISY Foundation is based in Glen Ellen, CA, and was established by family members in memory of J. Patrick Barnes. Patrick died at the age of 33 in late 1999 from complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), a little known but not uncommon auto-immune disease. The care Patrick and his family received from nurses while he was ill inspired this unique means of thanking nurses for making a profound difference in the lives of their patients and patient families.
We are proud of Kari,” said Cathy Knorzer, Market CNO. “She is very deserving of this honor for the extraordinary care, compassion and clinical excellence she demonstrates as a nurse. She is a shining example of providing compassionate care to both patients and their families.”
